My take on it is pretty simple. If you haven't gone through the decision yourself or with a loved one, do everybody a favor and STFU. You can't possibly comprehend the enormity of the sitiuation.

And, if you have gone through the decision - still, STFU. If somebody wants/needs your advice, they'll ask for it.

And with that, I'll STFU.
Yup, that horrible special Olympics joke applies here. I get carried away sometimes.

I have to say abortion is one subject I really have no opinion on. I just feel bad for the guys family to have to witness him gunned down in church.

Thank you for not repeating it.

Agreed wholeheartedly.

Yeah, there's something sad in the remarks above all right. I can't say for sure, but my take is that very, very few late term abortions are done merely for the sake of birth control of last resort.

This may come as a shock, but childbirth is often a rather dangerous prospect for some women. You may have heard of women dying in childbirth. Happens to this day.

New to this story is the ability to accurately determine if a woman can safely give birth to any fetus, or if a particular fetus has problems so severe that it will almost certainly be born dead and at greater risk to the mother than the average fetus.

Some people consider that they'd rather lose a doomed fetus than an adult woman with whom they have much invested in all ways possible. There are no guarantees in life, including being born safely after having been conceived.

As for doing this at a clinic, I wouldn't be surprised if hospitals avoid these procedures so as to evade having their staff harrassed or gunned down by self-righteous chest beaters who apparently are not interested in adopting hard to place orphans.
