Another awesome day in the life of Don
Yes sir, another sweet day that started at 3:30 am.
My friend, Douglas Sonders( google it) asked me if I would like to assist a video shoot for his production company, 8112 studios. I said sure I would love to. He told me where and who.. Health Central in orlando ish with Dr. Massan(sp).. He's one of the best neurosurgeons for what he does. So I guess it would be surgery, I was correct. I shot three surgeries, well.. I shot one and the others I was either at the decks monitoring inputs, doing time code stuff, syncing, changing tapes when we were supposed to, etc.. Stuff a production assistant does. I was in the OR for all three surgeries.. Two lumbar and one through the front of the neck.. cant remember the tech term for it. But that was pretty cool.. We were all in scrubs, masks, hair net things, etc. We had lunch with Dr. Massan and the reps from the company that designed the special tools the Doc helped design and uses. Then I ran out to go rent a Panasonic DX100 because one of the decks died!... crap lol... That was cake since there are a lot of production rental places in orlando. I probably spent more time in the hospital than I have ever done so. 15 hours in the place and like 7 in the OR doing prep, surgery, post. in between work, etc. Very cool.. I'll get some pics up. After all that we met up with a mutual friend and went to an asian fusion resteraunt called Roy's .. its like a Hawaiian Asian fusion deal.. I had the Kobe beef meat loaf, with some pork rib apetizer and a very nice chocolate souffle for desert. that was covered by the production company of course(50$ dinner.. gah) Plus my friend is going to put a very good word in for me at Rochester Institute of Technology which is probably the best school for commercial photography stuff and etc.. wooo |
