Fulcrum525 check this scene out...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp9my6qINBI&feature=related
Old but really good series, this is one of the better scenes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DQ6Qdmpzto&feature=PlayList&p=18BCF00BA813BF62&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=2 Skip to 4 minutes to see how to clear a police roadblock. RPG's work well... Gates is one of the crazyiest MF's you will ever see.

Interesting. Very much like Gundam Wing; safe for TV viewing at any time of day. I have to say I really like a lot of the more real world anime but the sci-fi/fantasy stuff is cool too. Looks to be a few years old right?
A friend who I haven't seen in months asked me out last night to watch what I can only describe as the most bloody anime i've ever seen, and this was a girl. Thankfully the subtitles distracted me from most of it as I'm not a fan of exccesive violence......However unlike a slasher films this actually had things like a plot, story line, themes, and I have to say a very excellent musical score. I've seen multi-million dollar feature length movies that had crappier music then this show. WARNING-VERY GRAPHIC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qx61G_thXWM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elfen_Lied

Thats one of those series that I always wanted to watch but havn't gotten around to it. Its a classic by this point.
If you want a good plot with a reasonable amount on action/killing Blood+ would be a good series for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood%2B Its a few years old, but the quality of production is so high you don't really notice it. The plot is fantastic, it unravels like an onion. Full Metal Panic had 3 seasons, one is comody. Its pretty good I never get tired of it. I have seen it a number of times. Baccano! is fairly bloody, but that really is such a small part. I have to say its one of the more interesting series I have seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Msg8ypnLqaw The opening was done by Guns $ Roses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNoITwTJiEM&feature=related All the characters are great, but this guy is the 2nd crazyist. The first is in another league...The Dub is the one you want, they nail the NY 30's accents pretty damn good, with a lot of period slang. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUL-Koia0wo&feature=fvw

The first one certainly sounds very very interesting. Of the two I might end up looking that one up more proficiently.
The 2nd one just has a level of coolness about it. Very prohibition gangster type fell, think the Untouchables If that guy is the 2nd craziest and just killed two henchmen for literally no reason then I can only imagine how bad #1 nut job is.....Here, found a sample of some of that great music from the other show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozgXPZh7g8g And shorter but better quality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YF4S3Lli6pM

You will have to watch it for the crazyist one!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g_ehKYJyUc&feature=related Here is the full opening song. Blood+ starts out really slow and builds, its not a series you can watch a couple episodes of and decide on. Some people don't really care much for it until they get half way through. I think thats why anime isn't as popular in this country. Its not a media where you can watch an episode or two and miss 10 and get back into the story. An anime is ment to be taken as an entire work A 50 episode series is ment to be viewed as a complete work, more like a 25 hour long movie broken up. You have to start at one and go from their, you can't miss episodes and expect to be able to understand whats going on.

Haha I never would have guessed that Guns and Roses would ever make a song like that. Very cool, makes you want to take a trip to the city
![]() My friend and I were talking about the same thing last night and your right. Most Americans are just too damn impatient to sit through these series so they don't appreciate them. Whats the old saying "Why read the book when I can watch the movie in 90 minutes" The one we watched last night was very much like that. The opening episode has nothing explained, things just happened and through the entire series (It was a long night.....) things get explained, events fall into place and threads become connected. American shows entertain you, Japanese shows make you think. Case in point ever seen the movie Battle Royal? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_Royale_(film)

Nope I havn't, looks interesting though.
Thats why I prefer these shows to a lot of the American stuff. I want to think, I don't want the whole story laid out before me. Thats why anime will never take off in this country. It requires you to put the time and thought in, to get anything out of the series. Their is a lot of crap out their, but the good series are really something special. I love peeling back the layers of a complicated plot, than like Code Geass having it turn on end in the last few episodes and zig in a totaly unexpected direction. I also enjoy how a good series flush's out the characters slowly, and like in the real world its sometimes very hard to see who is the "bad" or "good" guys. Characters switch sides, and their are many shades of gray. Look at Sky Crawlers, its a social commentary on one level, but its actualy a commentary on the anime industry. Fullmetal alchemist is a big anti war commentary, that draws heavily from Vietnam. Code Geass is big on racism. Black Lagoon crime, etc.

[/QUOTE] Yeah character revealing is fantastic. Here your basically dealing with stereotypes that don't get broken throughout and entire show...even if its 5 seasons long. People go through trauma and change, its fundamental and is rarely reflected on US tv (Battlestar Galactica was the exception to that rule) Also most US TV is just so damn predictable. Good guys win, then end. Cliffhanger, the good guys get away, then end. Its different to see the bad guys win from time to time or at least see the goods guys win pyrrhic victories.

Thats what made the new Battlestar so good, it was like a live action anime.
I like how they destroy the sterotype's. In anime the bad guys sometimes win, there are not set rules. Not to mention in some shows its hard to tell who is on what side, like the later season of Code Geass.

Quote:
The storyline and plot was nothing like I expected but the jumping around certainly made it interesting. Isaac Dian and Miria Harvent cracked me up But I still think Ladd Russo was still the craziest one of all.

Yeah it was freaken amazing wasn't it! They hit the nail on the head with the 1930's dubs, damn near perfect.
Now watch Durarara, its from the same creater and Isaac and Miria show up breifly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PW3wlBHl1qk Its very good. Senko no Night Raid is also very, very good I recomend checking it out. Also FMA Brotherhood is cinima quality once you get past the opening eps, its the best anime I have ever seen by a long shot. I cannot get over how good it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqLbf-xNPGM Freaken epic. Mustang is so badass when he kills Envy, way better than the original! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJjE3KFQbo4 Roy fries envy! Turns he/she/it into a clump of ash!

![]() I downloaded the entire Gundam Wing series onto my laptop. I LOVED that series. Same goes for Full Metal, but I don't have cable any more so I sadly can't watch the late night anime . Some of these shows have some intense story that rival that of 24. Really immersive and crazy.
