The tragic but moving love story of Marco Sanford
Mark Sanford:
This wasn't one of your average, sordid, quickie affairs, the sort of which Bill Clinton indulged in. No this was a love story. This is the kind of story that will probably move many young females in my constituency, young females who may or may not have crossed lines with an elected official but who have nonetheless wondered, deep within their souls, what it might be like. I will try to forget my soul mate and fall in love with my life, - uh, I mean, my wife again, but there will always remain a part of my heart, deep within the breast of Arrrrgh-in-tina, nestled among the tall pampas grass, waiting for some far future age to find expression and fulfillment. ![]() No, sorry to confuse you, that was me imagining myself in Sanford's love cage of a mind. Maureen Dowd nailed the guy: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/28/opinion/28dowd.html?_r=1&th&emc=th Jon Stewart as well: http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=232258&title=shut-up,-mark-sanford A bit from the second one: "Many of us are praying that he goes into a more silent mode . . ." - pastor Philip Linder, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Columbia, SC Stewart: "That's actually Episcopalian for STFU. BTW, you know you're in trouble when someone who is spiritually bound to hear your sins wants you to zip it. Gov. Sanford, the confessional is officially closed."
