MSN TV 2 (formerly WebTV) Printer

My elderly father has been using Web TV for around 5 years. It's easier than a PC and it has served his purposes (web access and email) reasonably well.

His old hardware bit the dust and he just bought the current version which is now known as MSN TV 2. I want to buy him a compatible printer for his 87th birthday on July 23, but am incredulous after learning there are many models to choose from, but none are available at retail anymore.

Other than Ebay, anyone know where I can get one of these printers?

Here is the message from MSN TV's site:

The following printers are compatible with the MSN TV 2 Internet & Media Player, however, are generally no longer available at retail. If you are looking for a printer, we recommend you search for the product via online retailers or online auction sites.

I'd probably just pick up a nice (sometimes you can find unopened box ones) of one of the HP Deskjets through ebay. Avoid the epson's as their print head can become clogged and thus the printer is scrap. HP's have the print head built into the cartridge so it gets replaced every time.

Thank you. I will focus on the HP's on Ebay.

I'm just really PO'd because it is a new unit and they tell you NO SUPPORTED PRINTER IS AVAILABLE anymore in normal channels.

I have no real aversion to Ebay. It's just that I'm only in town for a couple of days. I had planned to order a new printer from Amazon last night and have it shipped 2 day air to arrive in time for his birthday. I was going to set it up for him. Don't think I can get one from Ebay as fast.
