While I would not buy a car like that this is, or was last time I checked, a free country and a person can buy what they want to buy.

We should be able to reap the rewards of our hard work.

Thank you.

And may I add that not all folks who can drive cars like that and live that lifestyle do.

you guys are making a big deal out of nothing. So what if some one rolls up in a Lambo and Viper.. so what. I have friends that I hang out with that make millions or have made their millions and I roll into their neighborhoods and see new Ferrari's, land rovers, Bentley sedans, S600's, a Gallardo poking out of a garage. I park my SDL right behind my friends wifes 300C and I dont complain

hell that garage I posted with the four lambo's two ferrari's, that guy is my friend because we are car guys and do work for the celebration car festival each year which benefits make a wish. I get invited to go hang out with my friends that have money, we all share a common bond so its not like I have to have over 6 figures to go have fun with these friends, economics and class status is never raised when we are hanging out working on his Lambo or something like that.

Yep.
And, that’s how it should be.
Sad to say that in many neighborhoods it’s not that way though.

BTW – Ya got me “beat”.
I go in with our daily driver: A 2000 Honda Odyssey mini van.

That’s fine, so long as they are taught certain responsibilities.

There’s a difference between experiencing “the finer things in life” and just being “spoiled rotten.”

I dated a girl some years back that had fairly wealthy parents. Not Lambo level, but certainly comfortable.

Her folks were the type that bought her a rather nice car every couple of years, a nice condo near school, gave her a card she never saw the bill for, a very nice monthly allowance, etc.

One night I was over for dinner. They told me that many of the kids in school thought she was spoiled. (Really?? That’s odd.)
Then they said that they were just trying to get her to be responsible with finances. After all, she did have to pay the mortgage and utilities on the condo out of her allowance. (i.e. She had to write the checks.)

I asked them what they though would happen to her if something happened to them and she didn’t have them to support her every whim.
“Oh, nothing’s going to happen to us.” They said.

Our relationship didn’t last long after that.

Sometimes it’s not just: “Kids these days.”
It’s: “Parents these days.”

There are plenty that do not work hard for their money, a prime example are kids like this thread started about. They have no idea what work even is, or having to save for something, or not just "swiping a magic card" and having themselves be gratified by yet another purchase. Its a whole mentality. After attending a private college, I have met my share of these individuals.

Here's a good article:

Nothing wrong with money itself, it is the love of money which is the downfall. And far too many have succumbed to that. Hey, isn't that why our economy just went crashing down? People wanted way too many things that they could not hope to afford, then they lost their jobs and the debt attacked them in a dark alley. That's how it goes. In this country the average credit card debt is $4200+ per adult And over $7500+ per household.

I agree, with one exception.
Debt did not attack them in a dark alley.
They were looking at it in bright, clear daylight the whole time.
They dropped their shorts and invited it to come bite them on the ass.

This thread is the perfect representation of my school. Kids with no work ethic, no concept of true value, and will end up in the corporate world because they don't know what else to do. Half the girls are getting the "Mrs." degree and don't give a rat's ass about their education or future. That takes care of half the guys who convince the girls they are mr. right for a weekend, drink their souls away and don't show up to Monday morning classes. All filthy rich, never had to worry about bills, don't give a second thought to the 150k their parents are spending on their education, nor the normal middle-class students who work their way through - "oh you have a job? That sucks, quit it and come party!". Only applies to undergrads, thank goodness.

without knowing these kids, how can anyone say they are spoiled or not. judging them for driving a lambo at 20 is not very fair. who knows, maybe the kid invented some computer game or something. Bill Gates wasnt much older than that when he got a nice contract from IBM

I still say good for them
