Someone talk me out of this W116
as you can tell from the pictures, its a 450SE
88,xxx kil. on it sorry about the cellphone quality pics... I say, grab it. The 116 is a nice car. Looks to be a 73 with manual climate controls.
I have a clean hood you can have for $75 if you can figure out a way to get it from SE Wisconsin. If it is a 73, its a djet before the emmission controls choked the 4.5. It should move pretty good.

I'd drive it door to door for around $100 (fuel/munchies for such a trip)

my issue would be maint.
I could totally drive to get the new hood, might need to locate a sunroof as well, pending actual rust issue underside is damn near spotless. UGH I want it sooo bad... i'm trying to do research via 4-5 different forums... I hate this part... this car, is actually stressing me out LOL
