See you next month...

Leaving tomorrow for Paris. Stay there until the 18th then TGV to Narbonne, taxi to Argens-Minervois on the Canal du Midi. 10 days on a self-drive canal boat up to Carcassonne and back. Return to via TGV to Paris on the 28th and back to the land of grass-fed beef (but no cheese worth mentioning) on the 29th. Jet lagged until at least the 1st.

Oui, une tâche qui est difficile encore, une certaine personne doit être choisie pour qu'elle soit accomplie.

Have fun, post some pictures. My mom just came back from Paris about a month ago, just in time to leave for Yellowstone.

Actually, a bride with a skill set that bills barristers at parity or better for her time doesn't hurt a bit.

Don't miss Carcassone. that is a wonderful place. An intact medieval walled town complete with a miniature limestone cathedral.

!!Pee on bonfire alert!!
Carcassone was radically rebuilt starting from the mid 1800s; there are dozens of real ancient villages in the south west of France (where I live), but Carcassone isn't one of them. Don't get me wrong, it's still very impressive...just nowhere near as old as it seems! I'll be driving past it in 'bout 3 hrs time on my way to the sea just south of Narbonne.
Have a great trip
Giles

Dammit man! Keep this stuff to yourself. My French Canals book has been sitting on the shelf unutilized for years. You will push me over the edge.
(Make sure you post some pictures of the boat when you return)
