quick photo resizing question
asking here because the photoforum tends to take longer.
But I've got some pictures a friend wants printed of mine. All shot in RAW at 12.5 megapixel. I think she wants like 5x7's and 8x10's. Also I think she is just going to take the files to like a cvs type place |

If you use the Photo Manager tool that comes with MS Office 2003 there is a compression utility built in, one of the options is to "compress for Web pages", produces a nice sized photo in only a few clicks.

It all depends on the DPI output of the printer. Most of them have a output resolution of 300 DPI. You don't need a ginormus file size to print a decent 8X10 at 300 DPI.

If it's in RAW, are you going to do some processing first?

of course, I convert to tiff and process in pshop and then save a psd and a tiff.
im looking at mpix.com for prints and they have stuff on sizing |
