just got job in ATL

After graduating from school this past December, I finally received the job I've been chasing since October! It's an inside sales position with an IT managed security firm. I'm really excited. I've noticed there are many members in the area so hopefully I'll get to meet them in time. The only down part is that I received the offer today and I have to start Monday! That means the next couple days will be spent frantically looking for apartments (btw, if you hear of someone renting out an apartment above a garage or a mother-in-law suite, let me know). I plan to take the W111 fintail sedan with me so I have something to keep me busy, but that's making the move even more difficult since I need to find a garage in which I can do the restoration work.

Any ideas of really cool stuff to do for a young professional in the Atlanta area? I'm not really into the whole bar / club hopping scene. Not that I'm opposed to drinking (God knows I love gin), but I'm beyond that scene. ATL seems to have a great nightlife, but again, that's not really my thing. Advice or insight from people familiar with Atlanta?

Best Regards,

David

History Buff?

There are a bunch of historical type thing to do in and around atlanta. Also you would only be about 2 hours from Chattanooga(more civil war history) I used to live in Athens and was never at a loss for something to do.

Welcome!

One of my favorite restaurants, plenty of beer and a good Shepard's Pie dish to try once you get settled.

Congrats on the job! Good luck! Is this the kind of job a CSSP helps you get, or is that for another related discipline?

David, what specific area is your job in?

Brian? You're going to be in ATL? I'd like to meet you both.

Atlanta is W108 heaven. When I lived there a couple of years ago, I would normally see 2-3 W108 in junk yards all of the time.

Strelnik, I believe, yes. I still have to learn a lot about some of the technical aspects of the job. I'll work in sales.

Diametrical, I'll be working in the Concourse Pkwy. It's in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area.

I start tomorrow, so I'm pretty excited.
