California wants a "cuss free week". There is no enforcement mechanism but this is still way way way over the line!

It is a sign that the legislators are bored. I imagine that they have solved all the major issues and now they need to find something to keep themselves busy.

Maybe they could go lend a hand in some place like Haiti.

Apparently you have a problem with harmony and connectedness. No surprise with that attitude you have about all the other crap out there.

I agree that is an exaggeration. Much like the "Record Profits" that the media gave us a few years ago. It made people repeat that phrase although nobody I quizzed had any idea what the percentage profit was.

That may be but do you have to admit that it was a total waste of time from the standpoint that it will have as much chance of working as trying to cool down the sun by throwing a snowball at it.

Are the legislators so free now that they can come up with stupid things that sound good but will never have a chance of success? Note, these are paid people. Since you own your own company, how do you feel about employees sitting on their butts and playing solitaire when there is obviously work to be done?

If you can show me that any of those items can produce a significant change, why not? Smoke out days. Does that really work? Do people just stop for 3 days and go back to it? If so, you have won a Pyrrhic Victory but not much else. Like I said, if you can show significant gain WRT the effort and money, it is something we should do.

That I would be for. I offer my time to attractive females. I feel their boobs for lumps and I do a through job.

Please note however, that I did not say these things work(ed).
Nor did I argue in favor of legislators coming up with this sort of thing on our dime.

My stand is that I would think people should have more important things to do (or grip about) than to get their panties in a wad over something that has little to no affect on them whatsoever. Especially if that something (regardless of the financial and/or political issues), is created for the good of the country/California/mankind/whatever.

(I assume we can agree that a week without cussing would certainly be more pleasant than “It’s cuss your ars off and get it all out week!”)

Public profanity is against law in a number of states. Way back when my sister said the "s" word and got her mouth washed out with a bar of soap....I'm o.k. unless I;m driving and then all bets are off, my nickname is Teresa Toilet Tongue....if I find I am in public and it happens to slip out in a crowd I just tell people I have Turrettes Syndrome.
