Flooding!
So I live very close to the water, and tonight was a fun night! I'm up on a hill so I don't give a crap, I live near the water in the best way. But down the street not so.
So after work today I wanted to go get a beer, for two reasons. To have a beer and to watch the show. It flooded all down by the beach and it was fun to watch. I saw a late model Nissan SUV and VW Jetta both stuck. The Jetta is probably totaled since the water was half way up the door. My truck also got a nice saltwater bath, I ended up going through 18in of it. I picked up my friend and we decided to head down to our favorite bar, which is by the water on a street that floods. So we head down the hill and their was about 8in of water on the road to the bar, not bad. But before we pull in and commit I said lets go further down the road and check things out. I saw water pouring in past the houses at an alarming rate! I wanted to make sure we could get out later on, this was at about 9 and the tide was cranking in. So this part of the road is a bit higher and not bad and we get to a little bridge and we see a guy out looking at the flood guage. I stop and we talk for a minute, now this bridge is slightly higher and dry, their isn't any sitting water on it. But the water is close, its going to be under soon. So were talking for a minute and a wave comes in and bam we now have 6-8 solid on it if not a bit more. He walks away and I'm like great now were commited, only one way to go to higher ground. About 300ft of 18in standing water with now waves, I'm starting to feel like I'm in a boat more than my truck. But we get through fine and decide to go to a bar on higher ground. This is my second vehical that got a saltwater bath. I nailed a 10in deep puddle with the SDL a few years ago at about 40...that was fun. Truck did good though, Chevy seals the electronics well. Started to feel the water a bit at 18in but just plowed through nice and steady to keep the wave moving and the tranny vent above it.

WOW!
My BMW was not running when we had a flood down at the Jersey shore. I had to get her towed to the garage in about a foot or more of water. Once she dried out she was OK... Just had to go to the car wash and to a few chassis baths ... Notice the only dry area was by the sea wall GO FIGURE!

Wow you managed to catch him in a photo, not bad With that being said I was in Madison a lot last year during that crazy non-stop rain that we had and I saw similar things next to one creek (I feel sorry for the business plaza that constantly got flooded)
