so I went out to breakfeast the other day...rant about service

I went to the other breakfeast place ie, my second favorite, becasue I did not want to wait in a long line for the favorite one. Well this was a mistake. I orederd Wheat French toast eggs bacon and coffee. I drank the first cup of coffee, and found my self asking the waitress for more. I don't feel that I should have to do that. Then, I got my food and guess what it was White bread. I oredered Whole Wheat. I asked the waitress and she came back and told me that the resteraunt did not get many helth counscience people in and they simply did not have whole weat. BS, I have had whole weat before there. I did not argue with her about it, but I won't be back. I can't fathem this being decent service though.

Inattentiveness was the likely culprit on their part. But, dismissing it by blowing it off, or out and out lying about it - well that was inexcusable.

It's a dicey situation to let it escalate - I basically don't want to run the gamble of an 'accident' happening with the replacement order - if you know what I mean.

I've eaten 'white toast' a lot, when it didn't come 'wheat' as ordered.

Yes, I know what you mean. This type of thing makes you wonder where the owners are. If I owned a resteraunt, I would send realtives in there, and I would have them report on their experiences. I would want to know what was going on. It takes a lot to earn a good name in business, and it does not take much to loose it. It does make sense to have a employee who does not care ruin your name.

I guess this is why my Volvo mechanic does not hire another person, in that if anything went wrong it would be on his name. He said make more money at the cost of what. I agree, if you want something done right, do it yourself and don't grow too fast.

2 things I do. I call for a manager and yell at them in front of other customers. Managers usually don't like to get yelled at especially when you ask for the owner's name and contact information. After that, leave a nickle for a tip. You don't want the waitress to think or even get the idea that you forgot her tip, do you?

Yeah true, but on the other hand, it's not rocket science. If the man orders wheat toast, then he should get wheat toast. End of story.

Yes, and not only is it about something as simple as breakfeast, but other aspects of the serive and deminsihing quality that we have seen too.

Two Choices

1.Ask manager over to table and "Show Him" difference between what you ordered and what you received...And of course stick him with the check.

2.Walk out and never go back.No Payment ,No Explanation,Just walk.

Different Experience

I went out for dinner this evening to Charley's. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak, which is famously hard for anyone outside eastern PA or south NJ to get right. Service was good. Food was (considering my geographic location) excellent. I had the best cheesesteak I've found west of Pittsborough, and at a reasonable price. I was quite impressed.

Sorry for your luck on the other order.

I agree on that point. That said, if she had fixed the mistake, I'd be good too. At least apologized and offered to fix it. I ordered Chili as a side dish and got veggies. Waitress apologized and brought what I ordered. No harm, no foul. OTOH, when they try palm me off with some stupid excuse, well........

The wife and I went with another couple to a pizza restaurant. The girls shared a veggie pizza and us guys got meat. We got our food and the girls had some meat on their pizza. That was a problem because she was allergic to pork. Waitress apologized and told us that it would be reflected on our bill. Sent for another. Well, it was again screwed up. It would be reflected on our bill again. 3rd time's the charm? Nope. Waitress was so embarrassed that she called for the manager. Manager asked if we would like to try for 4ths. We declined. He said the meal was on the house. Including a bottle of wine and one to go. We should have asked for a serving of whatever the guy making the pizza was stoned on.

Lets just say I will never be seen inside a Perkins again.

Went to an Applebee's in Atlanta once. Had to wait forever just to get a drink. OK no big beal. Decided what I want and waited forever while the manager and the servers joked and played around at the back of the bar. Left a dollar on the table and walked out. They didn't have any trouble coming over when they saw me walking out though!

Done that in quite a few restaurants. Once at a Cracker Barrel, in Atlanta again! The servers were all around me helping other people but I just sat there. The waiter finally came over and asked me what I wanted. I said I just want a cup of coffee while I look over the menu. I never got it. Walked out after waiting for 5 minutes or so.

I just don't have any patience for laziness or stupidity when I'm at a restaurant.

Danny
