unfortunately, politics has degenerated into a lot of mud slinging. I feel for anyone who attempts to make any significant change in the political process because it appears they are in for a real challenge. George Mason predicted the Union would not last, and I am afraid Mason was correct. I've spoken with people who have expatriated and now live in foreign countries. ever ten years or so they come back to the United States to visit. they say they are blown away at how much worse we've become since their last visit. we don't notice it because we are living in the middle of the cess pool day in and day out. scary. But I am keen on letting people speak without interruptions. I have come to the conclusion that, left or right, people should have the right to speak without interruption. Especially if they paid for the rally. That makes it private. Everybody gets a turn at the PUBLIC forum, even those who disagree with you.Go to Hyde Park in London, you can see it for real. But they don't get to disrupt your meeting. You paid for it, you get to do what you want as long as it's not illegal. HOW the protesters state their case is the point. What would happen if you heckled candidate Obama or candidate Mc Cain? Wanna bet the Secret Service would let you talk? They'd move you out for disturbing the peace. On the other hand, people demonstrate all the time outside the White House and on the Net. No one shuts them down. People are upset when individuals make terrorist-style threats and put them on the Net in the name of "freedom of speech." But they are not shut down. If you wanna debate "freedom", debate that.

Speak up against socialized health care and get you finger bitten off by Moveon.org members. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZe8vQvOgbU Or get beaten by SEIU members. But in defense of the SEIU members, "We attacked him because he attacked America." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFeUhSlHiUQ&feature=related Looks like the guy at the Palin thing got off pretty easy.

Let's see... would I choose a major campaign event to try to shout down a featured speaker in the name of "free speech?" What did these guys expect? Let's think this through: If everyone were allowed this brand of "free speech" we'd have nothing but white noise as everyone tried shouting over each other. The back and forth of garbage would go on and on an on. I don't care for this style of "protest" from either side. FWIW, these guys are reportedly identifying themselves as libertarians; why they'd bother interrupting a Palin speech is beyond me. She seems like a train wreck to me as it is; why get in the way?

McCain took care of hecklers the same way George Bush did: He had 'em tossed out and, if possible, arrested. Obama took care of hecklers by reminding them that if they thought their comments were important then perhaps others would, too. He sugessted that they run for office as he was doing and see how many votes they could get. He would also ask them what was on their minds and then address their concerns. Bush required a registered ticket before you could get in, but if you did speak up during one of his speeches you were normally arrested for tresspassing. |

The last thing "Obama's team" would want to do is interrupt her; if they were smart, they would pay her to speak.

when they don't want to speak..drag them in LL Cool J And Toby Keith on Palin's show..maybe not...http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b174354_ll_cool_j_vetoes_sarah_palin_fox_news.html http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/31/publicist-for-toby-keith-also-baffled-by-interview-on-palin-show/ In a telephone interview on Wednesday, Elaine Schock, a publicist for Mr. Keith said: “I have no idea what interview they are using. Toby’s talked to Fox a number of times, and I had no idea that this was going to be on Sarah Palin’s special. Fox has never contacted me — not now, not when they were putting this together, not at all. I have no idea what they’re using.” LL Cool J Response: Promos for the show previewed clips of an interview the rapper purportedly gave to Palin, in which he describes how his family "is very pro-American." But the star insists the interview is two years old and did not involve Palin -- and he's accused the former politician and Fox bosses of "misrepresenting to the public." On his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palin's Show. WOW."
