The Name Game

I don't anthropomorphize my vehicles. They aren't people--they are more like pets.
Of course my Ford pickup was Fred. Twenty years ago I had a Celebrity named Bob.
My last car was a Mazda MX-3. For a foreign car I gave him a foreign name--Nigel. He was a boy. Cars with boy names seem to have fewer problems. It was really hard when I had to put him down; I had become attached.
Now I have a 99 C230 Kompressor
I've had this MB for almost two years, and I have resisted giving him/her a name. But my fiance says this one is definitely a girl. I've been referring to him/her as der Kaiser...and maybe that's why I've had problems. She has an identity crisis? I guess now her name is
Frau Blücher.
Maybe if she was new, she would be a Fraulein, ja?
Do you other people name your cars?

Hahaha. OMG! Frau Blucher! You just made my day! Do horses neigh when you say her name??

I haven't named a car...but at least 3 of my friends have told me what they named their cars. So far...they all seem like gender neutral names @_@

I've noticed people naming their computers lately though (laptops...) and I just recently decided that my little netbook's name would be Luna. Haha.

Howdy All,
I have dogs, they get names. My vehicles get descriptive phrases. My 75 Dodge van was called "my f@ck truck". My aunt named it for me and gave me this big ol' key fob with that written on it (not censored). My 86 Dodge Colt was called "Great little car". My 95 Jeep Wrangler was called "Jeep Wrangler". My 02 PT Cruiser was called "Cruzer". My 08 Jeep Wrangler 4 door unlimited is called "Dog hauler". And for tooooo many years my 61 404 Unimog has been called "basket case". lol

My first car had a name. When I was dating the girl who'd end up as my wife, she would call looking for me, ( because I was late picking her up), My mother would simply reply, " That damn car...."
So it became DamnCar", or DC for short.

My S Class is "Wotan". I believe that anyone on the Mercedes forum would be educated enough to know that Wotan is a character from the Ring cycle of operas by Richard Wagner. Wotan is the highest of all the gods in this myth. Seems fitting as the W126 "S" class is the king of all other automobiles. But then you all knew that, didn't you.
