Depression glass is called that because the design is "pressed" in instead of cut. Most doesn't have a high value, but some is worth a bit. The colored glass is of course worth more than clear.

That particular pattern was reproduced in the 1970's you might want to check with a local dealer to see if it's from the 1930's or the 1970's

Are there any markings/characteristics on it for me to look at? It was purchased in an estate sale in the 1980's from an older lady.

The reproductions were lighter and had more of a orange tint to it. The real glass more of a pink tint to it. also check the bottoms for wear.

Can't really tell color as I do not have a comparison. When we had them on the table they all looked the same or at least none stuck out from the rest in terms of color difference. When I look on line, the tint seems to look the same to me.

There were a few pieces that were thinner than the others as noted above but most were thick.

I did a search and found a few antique dealers in the area so I will have to go to a few of them in the next few days and see what they have to say.

Much of it was included with other purchases during the Depression (as in Great Economic Depression of 1929-1941) and the style continued to a degree afterwards, until WW2 ended the economic Depression and reworked the economy.

It's because people don't capitalize "Depression"and realize it's a term for sa period that they think of its more common meaning.

I know nothing about Depression Glass.

But,

It seems to me yours would seem more valuable if you replaced the dollar bills in your photos with something of a larger denomination.

Just saying
