Depends. If the guy finds application for the machine after, the equation is different. After you buy the tool, you have 2 options. Store it or sell it. I wouldn't buy a tool that I might use once every 5 years. I have a box of such tools already. In my city, for instance, to get a shed, I'd have to jump thru all sorts of hoops. I'd have to have a 12X12 gray beam for the concrete with wire mesh reinforcement. Why? Heaviest thing I will store is my riding lawn mower. Shed has to be similar to my house in shingles and siding and the roof pitch. I can't use a pre fab unit from Home Depot or Menards which would have cost me $3000 built. Instead I have to spend $5800 on it. The HOA approved it as long as it wasn't an eyesore. City building inspector, aka God, refused it. It must have wind bracing and what not.

All in all, buying the tool might be attractive but you have to figure out what to do with it. Also, he has a time constraint.

The reason Chadwick wants a Seymoyed is because he wants a dog that is as tall as he is.

I'm not sure what your point is. Mine was exactly what you stated. He has a time constraint. Paying someone to do it is worth it if you don't have the time or your time is more valuable than what the job costs.

Storing a tool for you may be an issue but it is not for me. Assuming I have some time, if the tool costs anywhere near what it will cost me for someone else to do it, the tool wins out nearly 100% of the time for me.

I love tools. I will always justify doing the job myself to own a new one. My chipper will be used again and it's being stored properly until then. I have to prune my trees regularly. I have a few overgrown apple trees that I need to cut down in the back yard, but I'll burn most of that in my woodstove.

That's funny that you suggested a Pug. 12 years ago the wife said that she wanted a wrinkly dog. So I bought my wife of almost 28 years a Sharpei. What she really wanted was a Puggy.

I love pugs. Small, perky, and fat. What else do you want in a dog?

Did you say Pug?

Here is mine in the SD. The pic is about 3 years old, she has alot more gray hair now, like me. She is a really good dog, very easy to take care of, but she has a BIG personality and is very stubborn. Thus Pugs are not for everyone. She is definitely NOT a typical toy dog.
