LMAO...you would not have liked Patton either....good thing we have men like this in the country, to fight wars for folks like you who would not/could not do it...

McCrytsal slipped up and let inappropriate comments be uttered around an outsider. He took the bullet for it and resigned, still a better man than most that we will encounter on the street.

Fortunately, these folks still work for the civilian leadership. Patton was good at his job, but it's a good thing he was never in a position to make policy decisions.

The military has a very specific function, that does not extend to making political comments in public. BTW, they are not fighting for me; I didn't sign off on this particular fiasco.

your posts often take this superior attitude to we "civilians", who lack your "toughness" and "willingness to fight". i hope this makes you feel better - however, perhaps a few questions need to be asked.

1) how do you know who is willing to fight, or has fought?
2) what great war were you in to protect the security of the u.s? (somehow, i think you are a little young for ww2 - when has the u.s. been threatened since then? or..)
3) have you just been a willing tool of american imperialism?

please explain, oh great defender of america.

uh, I am a civilian myself now, so.....my comments are based on many obvious posts that show a lack of knowledge of how the military works..sorry if that bothers you or somehow threatens you.

no, I was not in WII or Korea, not even Vietnam. I have depoyed to a couple of combat zones since then, you do the math and figure it out, you seem to think yourself a smart guy.

can't be an imperialist tool w/o an empire...so, where is the American empire? Or is that just some of that tired old left wing trash talk to direct at people with enough stuff to do the heavy lifting for this country?

Might be easier to name the countries where we have no military presence.

what heavy lifting?

grenada (fail)
panama (fail)
iraq (fail)
lebanon (fail)

if you need to know about the american empire, you might try reading gore vidal, noam chomsky, alexander cockburn etc. or just read the newspapers every day, which i have done for the last forty years, right about the time our glorious "heavy lifting" in vietnam was falling apart. which doesn't make me smart. just a simple guy who learns the facts.

When I hear you demanding we pay for the war in Iraq, I'll know you are sincere in your support of it.

all illegal invasions, deployments, etc.

pointless slaughter of a few grenadans, thousands of panamanians, noriega in jail so he won't tell all the dirt he knows about cia/bush sr/ u.s. dirty tricks.

kuwait liberated, and thousands of iraquis slaughtered in '91 - needlessly.

iraq a quagmire after 7 years, many dead americans, many many dead iraquis, billions wasted, u.s. debt skyrocketing.

well, you figured out lebanon, at least.
