Religion is ingrained into them. Is it any wonder that a lot of offspring here adopt the religion and even the denomination of their parents? Look at the suicide bomber. Why? He is told that he can suffer a bit here and have paradise forever. Kinda like going to college. Work hard for 4 years and have a better life later on. Women were told to mind their assigned place or they will suffer. Obedience will be rewarded. Why do Indians put up with the caste system? Religion.

Probably the reason any abused woman stays in an abusive relationship. They do not feel they have any place else to go. Then toss in low self esteem, no financial history, economic dependence, little protection by law enforcement and you get close to your answer.
