That is not unique, if it was you or I they would have forgotten about it long ago.

All we can hope for at this point is for karma to kick in.

I think this guy has already had his share of bad karma, most of it prior to this case.

that is exactly it. Charlie Manson inflicted damage to Polanski for which there is no resolution. and, to further rub salt into Polanski's wounds, Charlie is still watching Cable TV and catching three squares a day. the shock of not only having one's family brutally murdered, but then knowing the culprits are still breathing will upset anyone's apple cart.

he obviously suffers from post traumatic stress which may have caused him to do things he otherwise would not normally do. as a result of being victimized twice, once by Charlie Mason, and second by watching the system give Charlie Cable TV and three squares a day, he has suffered permanent damage.

in addition, there is a LOT MORE to the story behind the 13 year old girl. her mother liked putting her daughter in situations with the hollywood crowd in hopes of obtaining fame and fortune.

Makes no difference what the mother did. Mother did not hold a gun to his head and make him molest her daughter. That crime is all on him and he has yet to serve his time for it. The fact that Manson was not roasting in hades a long time ago is on another group of people.

True, but he's not about to turn himself in or allow himself to be turned over to US authorities. At this point, the US government has better things to worry about, and his victim is not interested in pursuing it either. Time to move on.

BobK 07-13-2010 03:08 PM

If we don't pursue all of them, we have no right to pursue any of them.

the 13 year old girl would NEVER have been at the hollywood hot tub party had her mother not encouraged her to go hang out with grown men. Mothers have a responsibility to keep their teenage daughters OUT of harm's way. if the girl had no father in her life, she may have been more susceptible to abuse. most father's of teenage daughters tend to keep their girls on a tight leash and obviously, for good reason.

WGAS about those two low lifes. The sooner they get to the end of the life's road the better, imho.
Speaking of this sordid affair, I see that just last week one of the Manson women Leslie Van Houten was denied parole for the umteenth time. Poor thing.

it is easy to throw rocks when you have never walked in another man's shoes.

for instance, I recently heard a story about a veteran who recently returned from Iraq. some nights he has nightmares and grabs his rifle and beats his wife with the rifle.

of course, we can all rest easy knowing his war time experiences had absolutely nothing to do with his current erratic behavior. according to some people, we should hold him to the same standards as everyone else, i.e. charge him with assault, etc etc.

knowing this, his family has to pray and hope that he will maintain some civility while they attempt to get the VA to provide him with psychological counseling. otherwise, he will end up in jail.

the system is working.

You're absolutely right. I have never walked in someone's shoes and gone "through the back" of a 13 yr old girl........... http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/polanskicover1.html

.......or murdered a house full of people.

Mary Kay Letourneau boffed a 12 year old. She did hard time. Twice. Now there is a troubled soul in need of who knows what.
http://crime.about.com/od/history/p/Letourneau.htm

Giving champagne and qualudes to a 13 yr old before raping her is indefensibe. I think Polanski deserves jail....or whatever sentence the CA courts would impose after all these years.
Or stoning.

Craig 07-13-2010 05:28 PM

...and I think OJ should be in jail too, but we all understand how the system works.

Wouldn't it be common sense to get rid of the rifle? If this has happened multiple times, I would think the guy would voluntarily surrender the weapon after the first attack.

If I were his spouse, it would be the weapon or me.

So the US is happy to let Cardinal Law, arguably complicit in a criminal conspiracy to cover up multiple child rapes, move to the Vatican, where he is beyond the reach of US law, yet is still chasing after Mr. Polanski? Something awry there.

Just about anyone with significant money in the bank is "beyond the reach of US law."
