Whining noise in dryer
I put a new drive belt on the Amana gas dryer of one of my best clients. The belt had popped off - I checked the motor pulley and the idler for roughness or other problems, couldn't find any - the old belt was frayed here and there, perhaps just age and that's maybe why it popped off. While the old belt was still loose, I turned it on and the motor made a high pitched whine, so it can't be the belt that's doing the whining. The lady says that's new as of a few months (unit is maybe 6 years old). It's a good dryer other than that, the new belt is working, I'm using it right now as I'm house sitting for her (gorgeous house up in the Berkeley hills - way quiet up here).
I found some help for the belt changing online but I'm not finding any whining motor tips. New brushes or new motor perhaps?
