Cd and total drag for a 123 body or a 126 body?

I found a large chart with many vehicles but the 123 and 126 are not included. Anybody have those figures?

Um.. I read this as "cd" being "cross dress" and "drag" as the same. Thought you wanted to dress up some Benzes lol

0.36 for 126 sedan
0.34 for 126 coupe

0.44 for W123 sedan
0.40 for W123 coupe

For reference the W124 could go as low as 0.28 depending on the model and the 190 was 0.33

Is it just general curiosity or are you planning on making an 1/8 mile drag car?

I'm trying to figure out what gearing I would need if I put a 617 in my caprice wagon.

The wagon has a cd of .36 but the frontal area is bigger than the benz so I am trying to figure out how it would need to be geared.

Gotcha!

I wish I were in a position to take it off your hands so that you wouldn't have to consider such equations.

I don't disagree, it'd be perfect for hauling my crew and a trailer around. I've got some liquidation of under used assets to do first. Who knows...

How does the present gearing of the Caprice compare to the 617 donor car? Is there a large selection ratios for the Caprice?

The caprice has a293 gear in the rear end plus a 30% od fourth gear. the mercedes car has either a 307 if i use a turbo motor or 346 if i use a non turbo motor. my first blush calculation would be to use a 410 rear for the chebby which I believe is a bolt in for just the pigs head on the rear end. that is for using the chebby tranny. if i swap in the benz tranny the gearing would need to be more close to the 346 i believe if using the turbo motor.

I'd would use the Benz trans and not change the existing rear ratio. The difference between the Chev and Benz rear ratio is less than 5%.

Good thought, though the chebby weighs 4200 and has by my eyeball 15 to 20% more frontal area.

My latest thought is to reconsider the idea of putting in a chebby diesel engine.
