Considering another MB

I'm a current and past owner (1991 190E and 1996 E300) who appreciates the MB for what it is (was??) but I'm a little cold on MB as my fender, antenna cut away and trunk lock cut away are all rusting along with other parts on my 1996 E300. My '91 190E had a spot of rust that never grew over the lifetime of the car?? My friends 1995 E320 had a spring perch rust off while driving -thankfully very slowly.
I love the ride, I love the +300K miles I'm getting plus the overall feeling of driving my MB but I'm a little hesitant to hop into another used (doesn't make economical sense for me to buy new with a 40-50K mile per year driving habit) MB as I remember all the issues drivers were having in the late 90's early 2000's.
Anyone feel free to chime in and tell me different or when they think MB sorted out their demons and got it right again - focus on quality not bean counting driving quality (through the floor).

I'm thinking of either a newer diesel or a C300.

Thoughts??

Thanks in advance

Want to put a tank in the trunk for WVO/SVO in the E300 Need to find a place to store my OIL!
Still procrastinating about the biodiesel/WVO
Made some biodiesel but so afraid to pour it all in - I've added some and think I'll supplement my fuel to see how I make out

Made some biodiesel but the process scares me - methanol fumes are not your friend! Need to do this outside.

The CDI's are nice, I think 2006 was the last year of the I6's before the V6 and modern emissions controls. If you want to go newer get a gas car, diesels no longer make much sense.

Not tied to diesels

Thanks - I was just looking on ebay for pricing and 2005-2007 gassers are not too pricey. Just need to figure out when they fired the morons and got back to basics.

more feedback please

otherwise it'll be an Audi, VW or something else possible even a BMW

W211's are good cars, never hear people complain much about them.

I don't believe there is as yet, any such indication.

I've been looking for another W211 to add to the house, probably of the gasoline variety this time, a few mid production E500's around in the high teens low twenties, with very modest mileage

If your getting "300K miles" out of your cars, I don't think you have much to complain about to be honest with you.
