Whats wrong with this pictuer? (not so sporty car for my friend)

So, my friend who was looking for a sporty car has changed plans. His dad called and told him he was going to sell his Volvo AWD wagon. while this is not sporty, it does allow him to take his dog with him, so hes now settling on the Volvo wagon. But he said he always wanted that wagon, so its ok i suppose. Thing is his dad told him he would trade the wagon for a 4dr sedan. So now my fiend is looking for a 4dr sedan with a budget of 4k leaving him to do some maintenance on the Volvo, because as part of the trade with his dad he will have to get it tuned up and aligned.

Anyway, his dad is also over 6ft tall and he said he wanted a sedan ether European or American... and it can't have a V8... (there goes the Crown Vic )

Doing a search for my friend I found this add.
Read the description and then look at the car. Did the guy even look at the car when writing the ad?

Other than .4L of missing engine it looks good.

My brother leased a '94 MB similar to this one and had nothing but trouble with. Mostly electronic. In the end the Austin MB dealer swapped out a new '96 for the '94. The '96 wasn't much better.

Not a big Volvo fan, my friend has a newer XC90 and I pulled the rear door handle off when I got in it. Quite cheap the whole thing. For the money I rather buy a Chevy.

That 300E has a 2.6 in it. The ad text keeps saying 3.0. Talk about false advertising.

Is the transmission a manual, or a dogmatic?

"Dollar per mile" the Crown Vic/ Grand Marquis/Towncar ("Panther platform) are about the cheapest cars per mile out there to own for someone that loves and needs good headroom,
legroom, shoulder room, and lots of interior space.

The rear seats not only have enough roomfor three kids in the back, there is also room for them to fight back there.

The trunk is cavernous - 20.5 cubic feet worth.

The police and cab companies love them, and beat them half to death, and yet they can easily run to 500,000 miles and beyond if cared for reasonably well.

"Dollar per mile" is NOT just miles per gallon --- (these carse asily make 20-25 MPG in most driving, but you must ALSO include: cost of parts, insurance, depreciation, longevity, durability, cost of repairs, frequency of repairs, cost of parts, and a host of other things.

I have owned many, ahd allwere bullet proof,(repair wise), never stranded me on the road, even one time, the are safe, comfortable, roomy, dirt cheap to run, last almost forever, and repairable (though unlikely to ever need a repair) by any dribble chin corner gas station mechanic.

He should buy one.

The depreciation negative is lost buy buyng one a year or two old. The depreciation is ghastly when new.

For example, the MSRP on mine, new, a 2009 Grand Marquis was per the window sticker, $29,950.

I bought it after Avis in LA had it in service for 8 months and exactly 13,100 miles for just $15,988,so it lost almost half its value in a year !!!!

But I still got almost the whole factory warranty on it.

Sadly, they go out of production next month.

That is how come I bought one of the last ones as new as I could, this past May 30th.

I added a full sized spare tire, wheel, dual Police Interceptor, type, exhaust and full 40% window tint and coud not be happier. I drove it 9,000 miles already and I love it. Likely the last car I will ever buy. But it looks and runs like a brand new one.
