Did you try the third party program? With that you shouldn't need to mess about with resizing windows and dragging them about the screen.

I gave you a link to a program that someone created that should allow you the nifty Win7 screen locking function.

Sorry then, you are kinda screwed. The latest upgrade would be Windows 7. It's basically a more stable, faster version of Vista with a much nicer interface and some new options like the one you are wishing you had. Cost should be around 80 bucks.

Go for it man!

You could try reformatting the hard drive and installing Linux. I've had that feature since 1993. Plus multiple desktops, as many as I want. Uptimes measured in months. And no viruses.

So on your Win7 laptop, when you hold this key down

and press the left or right buttons
nothing happens?
You have to hold the windows key down as you tap the left and right directional arrows. if that doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you.

Again. If i click on the shortcut Bank of America on the desktop, hold down the windows key and tap the right arrow key the page goes from full to half on the right side of the screen. If i click on the icon for this sit it opens in a half page and covers the first page.If i hold down the windows key and tap the left arrow, both move to the left they do not seperate.

I'm not understanding the issue. Sorry, I'd have to see it in person. It sounds like the function definitely works if it's moving the pages around. What i do is click one window, windows key+left, click the other window, windows key+ right and they would now be on opposite sides of the screen, and I've never had a problem. Good luck!
