Sorry to not post an update but work has been very busy lately.


Thus far my xoom has been a GREAT tool for business and even managed to get me out of a bind two days after I bought it. The camera is perfect and i've been using it to document and record several things.

I still feel that's it's a more flexible platform then the iPad for a number of reasons. Its much more friendly with Microsoft software for example.

I haven't had any issues with connectivity and I haven't had a need to get any apps.

Also this post was done on the unit and didn't take long at all to type

And before you even say it, I don't care that I didn't get any votes either but I haven't been here long enough to make any sort of impact. Nor do I have any interest in being recognized for my wit but at least I make a point not to offend or annoy anyone.

Anyway, to get an apple product JUST because it's an apple product is a silly thing. Anybody here wanna buy an iCar? I'm sure it will be such a strange car that the driver will become applesauce.

What else does the Xoom do? Does it have a microphone? Curious as to how good it would be in a phone call

Depends what type of device you are looking for. I don't have an ipad2 yet, but I've been using the original for about a year. I like it because it plays nicely with my macs and iPhones. I don't think I've ever seen a zoon in person. Just buy whatever works best for your needs.

Unless the camera tickles your fancy, stick with the iPad 1. When it comes to pure tablet function I still think the iPad 1 is king of the road.

I don't really care about the camera, the ipad2 is a little quicker and has more RAM but I'm in no hurry to upgrade. I will probably end up buying one for my daughter before I replace mine. I'm certainly not going to stand in line for one.

iPad 1 is on my wish list. But a rooted nook is going to happen if I can get a refurb nook color.

I still print out articles and use a pen...works just fine

My middle kid bought one. She works in a sales job where visual presentation is Gawd (event planning & rental). She uses it to show clients what different options might be and can draw upon her company's warehouse for photos of items on display and in use. It has meant 10's of thousands of dollars in sales and the company president bought one after she showed him what she was doing -- no big deal, it's a small company. But growing. Her boss just bought a Ford GT. It's his daily. Next year she gets his cast-off Beemer. She will make more than me, which is great -- it means she can afford to take care of me when I retire (as I often remind her! This is revenge for her teen years).
