The Salon article provides no further enlightenment on whether Baldwin said or didn't say it. It's impossible to prove. Other celebs were directly quoted saying they'd leave. Baldwin never was.

He was asked "where he would get his health care if Obamacare passed" and he responded and I'm paraphrasing "in the event that Obama care passed and in the subsequent 5 years following the implimentation of it came to the result expected that he would go to Costa Rica (where he would get his health care).

In the conversations preceding that small exchange there was a discussion about doctors setting up clinics in Costa Rica which had more favorable conditions and where "Medical Tourists" where the intended customer base.

It's really pretty funny because what Media Matters and the rest of the liberal media empire did in that case is exactly what they always accuse Fox and the right talkers of doing - taking an utterance completely out of context and reframing it so as to make it appear something was stated when in fact it never was.

There was no claim that the Salon article was definitive proof one way or the other.

It should be noted the Salon article clearly describes the equivocation of Baldwin and his then wife when confronted with the claim. First, no she never said it and never gave the interview in question, then she did give the interview but "my wife and I never said unequivocally..."

Kind of makes you think back to another liberal invertebrate squirming while arguing what the definition of "is" is!

Baldwin was in fact quoted by his wife, he never denied that he said he might leave , he only said “my wife and I never said unequivocally…!

In the original interview, his wife made rather extensive comment on what she heard her husband say and what she thought it meant and further opined that her husband most assuredly was a man who did what he said he would do.

As she soon divorced him I supposed she either knew less at some point than she imagined or learned more at some later time.
