things really are getting worse. Obviously, no one in the hair salon other than the shooter was armed........

Because if they were, I'm sure everyone in a hair salon would be prepared to defend against an ambush attack. Good thinking!

Well, we've come a long way. Used to be, you'd have shoot outs in a SALOON. Now, they occur in a salon . . . "I think I''ll have my hair done after I go down at take out the Dalton gang, Doc . . ."

perhaps they should have picked up some cans of hair spray and tried spraying him into submission.

Few would be prepared but armed, you have a CHANCE. Unarmed, you have ZERO. While he is shooting others, I might be able to get my gun out and have a chance to save my own skin. Unarmed, you are about as useful as the cattle that are about to be slaughtered for meat.

OTOH, maybe they can ask for a 2 min time out while they call 911? Sorry, I'd rather die with a chance than die with no chance.

Had a cop that couldn't even shoot the deer AT HIS FEET. I offered to shoot it or hold the light so he could. Mr Macho man refused. Boom! Missed. Wow. I'm impressed. Maybe we can wait for the injured deer to run across the other side and kill someone else. Although, he finally hit the next time after I held the light. I feel safer knowing he is out there protecting me. I understand under stressful situations, you can miss but AT YOUR FEET and not running? Point Blank Range? The bad guys do not obey the gun laws which makes them feel empowered knowing they can waltz into any store or business establishment KNOWING that most everyone will be disarmed.

It will undoubtedly sound sexist, but being armed in a hair salon, where tensions can run as high as in a courtroom . . . may not be the best thing.

Man am I glad we (California) has such strict gun laws. Can you imagine the carnage if we didn't?

This is a sort of positive feedback loop for anti gun legislators. Another shooting? Must need stricter laws.

Bingo. I carry two fists 24/7. But if someone came up to me, punched me in the nose without warning, and knocked me out, they'd probably be next to useless.
