Sunpower

The next $1.2 Billion with B of your tax money flushed down the toilet. It's pretty easy to squander somebody elses money. Of course they THINK that your tax money is THEIR money.

I'm all for Solar Energy, but if it needs to be propped up by risking MY money, then it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's not ready.

When ANY technology is ready for a profit then the technology is ready. Forcing it won't make it happen.

The government has NO business in private business!

I didn't blame anybody for anything. I simply am saying that THERE SHOULD BE NO GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right On!

This all got out of hand in the 1930's with the Tennessee Valley Authority. The US needed vast amounts of power for Nuclear research and since those slugs in Private industry were dragging their feet the Feds had to build the dams.

And all those Nuke plants that had to be constructed for research into producing U-235 or Plutonium. All the Feds had to do was order some up and private industry could have produced it cheaper and faster as soon as someone told them what it was. I understand it is hard to place an order for an element that exist only in theory, but private industry can solve all our problems so while it would have been difficult I am sure it was not impossible.

And that Manhattan Project? BOONDOGGLE! Of course, there are those that say the results of this project cut six years off the war and saved over one million lives that would have been lost in the first week of the invasion of Japan, but private industry could have solved this problem, too, as soon as someone gave them a clue as to how to go about it.

And don't get me started on this Government outfit called DARPA. Why, those fools done went and invented this thingy we now call 'The Internet' and they used MY MONEY to do so. And what good has it ever done me!

I am too depressed to continue.............
