My most hated words are:

"Absolutely" - a far, far, FAR over used word of emphasis. I hear business people say it to one another in agreement all day long.

"Whatever" - highly dismissive and rude.

"To each his own" - another way to dismiss someone else's feelings/tastes.

I hate when people say "literally". Yes, I recognize it actually happened. I didn't need to be informed that your phone didn't just 'figuratively' shut down.

Also misuse of "ironic/irony". I'm basically a grammar Nazi.

And when women say "okay" when everything isn't okay, or "nothing is wrong" when EVERYTHING is wrong. subtlety isn't their Modus Operandi

"dialoguing" ? does that mean talking? conversing? when did it become a verb?

"preplanning"? isn't a plan, by its very nature, something done before taking action?

"disrespecting" ? enough already, with your delicate ego and narcissism!

Anyone using the words "...and all that..." when speaking. About as intelligent as "...ah, ah..." every flippin' breath/sentence.

I glaze over and pretend that I've got a phone call coming in that requires me to leave.

Then I escape.

Football / sports broadcasters that refer to ANY PLAYER being "blue collar"
- any professional athlete is so outrageously compensated that the comparison irks me . They have personal trainers for diet , exercise, etc . Health care , retirement beyond the norm . It just irks me .

Come to think of it most sports broadcaster in general - constant babble and esoteric rhetoric as they try to proclaim themselves as the GOD of football.
ONE TIME , just One time I'd like to hear a guy say " WOW , did you see that play ?!! That guy is a football player !" instead we get -" Did you see that , when the left guard flicks his wrist to the side , the linebacker knows an x cross is coming , the the safety goes over the top , the weakside linebacker covers the edge , the strong safety reverses his responsibilities , the quarterback reads the wind pattern etc etc .....

oh and I cant help but be suspicious when during conversation the person your speaking with decides to say " let me be honest with you "

(really ! well ok then I'll be honest too , maybe .....let me think about it , what did i say ....last time )

and any kid ( adult as well ) that sums up their frustration with "That Sucks "

I hate "Democrat", "Republican", "Conservative" and "Liberal". The terms have been thrown around by commentators and media figures for so long that they now have meaning.

Please CNN/FOX/MSNBC - Could you please removed the -D or -R from someones name and let my judge them by the stupidity of their own actions ?

I hate to hear someone, it's usually a reporter, say "across the world." I thought Columbus settled that one over 500 years ago. Until recently it has always been "around the world."

This makes me cringe in a meeting when someone starts their sentence saying " I think". Also bad Signage - NOW OPEN, NOW HIRING

" We want to increase your movie-going experience" This doesn't even make sense. The SyFY channel now no longer broadcasts programs, or movies or episodes-- it broadcasts "experiences."

I dislike this phony "trend speak" which these people inflcit on us.

My other favorite is from the NPR interviewers, which have a very arrogant commanding style in their interviews. They don't ask questions, instead, they give orders:

" Paint us a picture of what's going on." Ok, be back in 3 days.

" Help us understand why X is true." Why? Are you incapable of thinking?

" Remind us why this is important" Isn't that your job as a journalist?

This way of using words to control the conversation when you really don't know anything is not engagement in a dialogue, it's ego-feeding stylistic formulation which masks how little the journalists really know.

Like managers who think you don't have to know anything about the product you make, as long as you know the process.
Hah!
Try that with surgery.
