Actually, the whole thing was an Internet hoax/deliberately created urban legend (not that I have any love for Beck).

Problem is that there are some people who are obviously crazy, but there are even more crazies that look and act 100% normal in the open. Be more worried about the latter than the former.

I think you are joking here but I am hearing this kind of thinking from people these days who take themselves seriously. "You can tell when someone is honest", "You can tell when someone is lying", etc. Some of the stuff sounds like professional witchhunting is making a comeback.

A lot of the stuff is family oriented (other families) and you don't have to listen long to hear the contradictions. Too much of it is public and all too superficial.

These are times when phrenology or even a divining rod would be useful, as I cannot accurately discern the character of another person just by looking at them.

If you ever want to get out of jury duty just tell the judge you can tell if someone is guilty just by looking at them. Tell him "First glance and I know, I don't have to hear a word, people lie". If you are not excused from duty then you need to find another place to live, quickly.
