Nice Lady Reads to Kids-Parents Outraged

A former adult film star, described by a student as a "nice lady" read to a group of elementary students in Compton. Some parents are not happy. I'm not seeing anything objectionable. Discuss.

It just goes to show that at even that tender age, the sight of a "nice pair" even well covered appeals to a young male & gets their attention.
The whole thing is a bit of a beat up.
If some one with her background & skills can get these young children to read, then I am all for it.
Just a bit jealous that we didnt have cuties like that reading to us when we were young. Just obese elderly types.

Personally, I don't see a problem, as long as she is no longer in that business. Call it a career change...

Kind of adds a new meaning to the "pop-up" book, don't it?

Nice lookin gal.

Next thing you know she will be writing a book and running for VP.

If I am the school I don't think I can let her read to my kids once the parents complain.

Didn't a school let George Bush read to a class in 2001?

It'd be refreshing to see the principal of the school take a stand and support her, but that's unlikely. She'll be busy playing cover my own azz.

Yep.

One also has to ask why she would choose to read to kids? It seems an activity bound to create controversy once her identity is known.

I don't really keep up with people in her field, but those that do say she is trying to make the jump from one type of film to another. This would cause her to reinvent herself like others have.

Newt went from being a serial Mistress keeper to an upstanding citizen by just telling the world 'I have seen the errors of my ways' and the religious right said to go and sin no more. But then, they need Newt and short of being caught after a three state killing spree I think they would forgive Newt for anything.

Another actress comes to mind here: Lulu Roman. She was thrown off of 'Hee-Haw' after it came out that she was a dope smoker and had worked as a Stripper on Industrial Blvd in Dallas. (In those days Dallas had three areas where strip clubs operated; Greenville Ave. which was for the high rollers, Harry Hines which was for the middle class, and Industrial Blvd. which was rock-bottom) But Lulu bounced back and changed her whole life. She is now, and has been for many years, a Christian singer. She is not making Hee-Haw money anymore, but she is doing OK for her level of show biz.

By the way.... I used to know Lulu back in the 70's when all of this took place, so I can verify that her conversion from one type of show biz to another was the real thing.

Time will tell if this is the real thing with this actress.

I do think it odd that anyone from Compton would gripe about this, though. Has Compton gone all upscale or something?

If parents care so much, why aren't they reading to their kids themselves, and just generally taking responsibility for raising them instead of handing them over to the states to care for? I mean, they're trapped on a locked campus, can't speak, go to the bathroom, eat until allowed to, "zero tolerance" hangs over their head for 7 hours a day, not to mention it's all financed through stolen money but no... What pisses the lemming parents off is that a chick who banged a lot of dudes knows how to read better than they do.
My knee jerk was obviously, yes this is not cool. Because if it were my kid, they come home and google the ***** and I'd have to explain to a 7 year old how a woman gets "airtight". But then I'd only have myself to blame for exposing my kid to the every day lobotomization that is public school.

So what do you really think of public education?

The problem is that too many Dumbericans believe that the sight of a nice human body offends some old man up in the sky. Maybe that's why so many of them choose to become obese -- because it's less offensive to their imaginary old friend.
