I thought this was going to be about McRib. Horse meat is probably healthier.

Horse meat is supposed to be pretty healthy actually. Pretty lean and what fat there is doesn't clog your arteries.

Problem is that a lot of the horses slaughtered weren't raised for food, which means that they were dosed with non-human approved drugs at various times. I'm not opposed to horse slaughter assuming it's done in a humane manner.

Wasn't it Congress that sent the budget package to the President, and there's no line item veto?

House Bill 2112

From the article...

"But that was then. This is now. Last month slipped into the Agriculture Department spending bill in the Republican House was a continuation of the inspection defunding. The Democratic Senate version wanted the horsemeat industry kick-started again.

In the conference committee, the Senate version won by a nose. And Obama quietly signed the death warrant legislation on Nov. 18. He was abroad again at the time. So the White House used a robot pen. "

You need to get a grip. Obama is doing the best he can. He disagrees with you. Deal with it.
