I guess that makes sense. I just looked it up and the whole plane went for around $39,000,000 in 1977 which translates to over $147,000,000 in today's dollars.

Remember, speed costs money............and lots of it...........Mach 2.0 results in an airplane considerably more expensive than a B-747, even though it's significantly smaller. |
