North Korean Rocket Crises

Not sure if anyone is following this developing situation. Following are the details as I know them to be.

N. Korea decides it wants to shoot off a rocket into space..releasing into orbit a satellite , to be used for monitoring crop growth.

Last week President Obama leaned on China, imploring China to ask the N. Koreans to scrap their plan.

I just saw on the news that Japan has decided to cut through all of the crap, and state that if North Korea does send up the rocket..Japan will shoot it down.

This is like a suspense thriller.

* As usual, I do not have a link, perhaps one of our members would be kind enough to post one.

+1

If they got b***h slapped by someone, maybe they would calm down.
China is not helping and we are not doing anything as usual.

Having spent a number of years in the military, I am not keen on sending myself or other people into combat zones, but sometimes, you gotta show that you have a pair, because other people (or nations) aren't thinking.

Ditto with Iran, which is helping Hizbollah in Lebanon and the Syrian government kill off its own people.

On the other hand, it's the actions of a totalitarian government that has an extremely young, western raised, leader who needs to saber rattle when there are neogotions with the West.

What is wrong with letting other countries getting their hands dirty? Why does the US need to be the one to drop NK's missile? What is wrong with Japan doing it? It is there back yard after all.

So let me get this straight. We live in a free country with free markets. A government of the people, by the people and for the people. But if I try to launch a satellite into space I am then considered part of the Axis of Evil? Kool, man. Launch me another twinkie.

The Norks should tell the Japanese to p*ss off -- that the rocket may (or may not) be tipped with a cobalt-laced nuke set to explode if damaged. Make Fukushima look like a firecracker

China owns 8% of US debt. it is not the big problem the right wingers make it out to be.

And they own the debt because it makes good business senses. Despite Republican efforts to kill the US credit rating the US is still the best place on Earth to invest in.

Good point.

But I am not sure Japan is responding out of believing in the Axis of Evil rap that was layed down on the unsuspecting/naive American public-and the Western world by Bush and his cronies.

I do believe that Japan is better suited to deal with N. Korea than the U.S. is, just like they were better suited to deal with Red Communist China back in WW-2.

Japan knew back then that something needed to be done about China..but they got nuked..so now the U.S. has to deal with China..and it isnt looking very good.

Perhaps this new situation will be a twist of fate, and the U.S. while hopefully learning from their past mistakes will get behind Japan.

Bottom line: Japan is sending the right message, and isnt playing games with N. Korea. The time has come to slap them around some..hopefully they will see some sense after being put in their place by someone who has the nads to do so, instead of some stearn lecture..which up until now..hasnt been very effective.
