A much more sustainable and heavier yielding crop for ethanol biomass than corn from what I've heard. No fertilizer, few pests, less water and greater yield.

There are a number of better crops than corn. Switchgrass is another good example. The corn lobby is massive, though.

Corn is about the last thing our country should be growing.

Rapeseed would be a good choice.

And maybe get agribusiness to engage in crop rotation and not just beat the soil to death.

For most of my life, I thought that pot was a bad and evil thing. But now, I figure that the Lord put the stuff on this earth when He created it. I think that pot should be legal and taxed just like tobacco.

Or if a person is in a position of having garden space just drop some seed in the ground and try to keep the deer out of it. For their own consumption of course. I am of the opinion that that is some of the reason it is still illegal for recreational purposes. If you can drop a seed in the ground and grow a plant for your own use how they gonna tax it? Kinda like a tax on homegrown tomatos.

And all this time I thought you were a biblical kinda christian...

Genesis 1:29 - And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food:

I am a Christian. I figure that if the Lord put mj on this earth, he meant for us to use it. I tried it for the first time last year and it didn't do anything for me.

Knew about the christian thing, and figured you had probably read Genesis. Any one who has, and believes the bible, should logically determine that the laws prohibiting marijuana are in direct conflict with the teachings of the bible.

Not sure why the christians don't have the same kind of problem with this infringement on their beliefs when they go so completely rabid over others.

As spud commented, maryjane does not have to be smoked. And it doesn't even have to be a variety that gets you high. It can be used for paper, clothing, plastics, fuel oil...the list is very long. Bottom line, the hemp plant in all it's forms should be legal. (How anyone ever outlawed a plant is beyond me)

In the past, hemp was actually a required crop of US farmers, you could be jailed for not growing your quota... how's that for an about face??
It was also considered legal tender, and one could pay their taxes with it.

Hemp Growing Was Once the Law in the US
