check out this antique cement mixer

We stumbled accross it in the woods. I'm sure it is the one that mixed up the concrete for everything that has concrete around here. Neat looking old machine. Manufactured by CMC and called a Trailer Mixer and you can see that it is built on a trailer. Lot different than the little mixer you can buy at Home Depot.

How deep in the woods were you? Any nearby constructs? (A bridge or damn perhaps?)

The private lake I live on has a lot of concrete. Mainly a concrete seawall about the length of a football field then the spillway and discharge section for same. Then there are the slabs for the barns. Lot's of concrete poured back in the 30's and 40's. This thing has probably been sitting over there in the woods since the 50's. I had heard tell that grandaddy had a cement mixer but this was the first time I had ever seen it. We had a guy cleaning up some scrap metal off the property that cleared out around it. Here is a pic from the side. You can see the tires. It was manufactured by Construction Machinery Company in Waterloo, Iowa and I imagine it was probably shipped down here on a train. It is called a Trailer Mixer. I may try to do a clean up/restoration on it.

It has a gasoline engine from LeRoi for driving it.

Very cool.

I've found some really big and really old equipment really deep in the mountains of Colorado near abandoned mining sites.
Testament to the intestinal fortitude and determination of our forebears.

Nope. Not the tooth.

I'm just curious if anyone told you that you're brilliant?

Sounds like a fun engine to break free and get inside

Well, more than a few people have called me an idiot savant, does that count?
