Is there any program out that will let me know if and when someone has opened an email I sent them?

If you are using Microsoft Outlook, then under the tools menue select options, then preferences, email, email options, message handling, tracking options, and check the box 'request a read reciept'. However, if they use an advanced firewall, the reply generated in their outbox will not be sent to you unless they authorize it, as the firewall will stop anything not 'authorized' by them from leaving their computer.

depending on your program, look for something that will send a read recieipt.

Most e-mail programs have this feature, sometimes it is referred to differently.

In outlook ecpress, try tools, then options, and click on the receipts tab.

I checked again and don't think I have the receipts tab ...

The recipient has the option on all of these programs to decline sending the receipt, and even if the recipient does allow the receipt to be sent, there is absolutely no way to assure yourself that the email was read...

A Good way to stop e-mails from outgoing is to use a fake address in your e-mail address book that remains the first address int he list. Since the first message wont send, usually they all don't. I'll check on the exact use of it for you guys.

Outlook express 6 has a receipts tab.

Outlook express 5 or 5.5 or earlier it is most likely on one of the tabs under the options.

I'll see if I have acomputer with 5 or 5.5 to check for you.

Everything I have at home and on my laptop are running windows XP with IE 6 and Outlook express 6, and office XP. Some slight changes between them and the previous versions.
