I just pulled an all-nighter and am back at the desk, so cut me some slack, okay? After all, I'm not as good as Yosey.

Turns out the guy died:

Alleged copper wire thief dies after suffering electrical burns - latimes.com

A guy working in a tunnel at Seatac lost both his arms from a 25K volt accident a few decades back. Reminds me of the way you'll put a big pit in a knife if you cut through a live lampwire. 33K volts doing that same action on your body? Wow. It's a blessing he died quickly. Would have been a long convolescence to a life as a freak of an invalid.

We had one here in Indy the past year where the thief went on the roof of this factory on a weekend, in the rain and was standing on an aluminum ladder, with the ladder standing in water while he began or attempted to dis mount a large piece of copper which was part of the electric reduction transformer. He barely made the first turn with his wrench - so sorry!

First, there will need to be a hearing in circuit court.

I know a fellow who was working for the power company and was right next to a big transformer that exploded. He was doused in oil which (IIRC) caught fire. He had burns over pretty much his whole body and improbably survived.

It turned his family equipment into blobs of scar tissue (he said). (yikes!).
