Beretta 96FS Inox...

I'm going to do an update now that I have owned this pistol long enough to get familiar with it.

Currently I'm trying to get it to hiccup. I have 300-400 rounds of the cheapest .40 caliber crap threw it with zero maintenance of any kind and still this pistol refuses to malfunction in any way. Accuracy from what I can see is still excellent. I was nailing targets at 65 yards Friday.

Ergonomics are just about perfect as far as I can tell. I'm a huge 1911 fan and this is one of the few pistols that's not a 1911 that I really like. Trigger could be better, but than again its not a 1911.

I'm really glad I got the .40S&W instead of the 9mm. Having shot both I think its a great 9mm handgun but why not use the weight? With .40S&W it has a bit more stopping power and the mass of the pistol tames the snappy nature of this cartridge perfectly.

As far as shooting I noticed at 65 you have to aim a bit high, at 10 yard which I was doing Friday you have to aim low. At 10 you line up the sights and cover the target with the body of the pistol to get them to hit. At 65 you have the target 3/4 to the top of the front blade if that makes sense. Also Winchester white box is to be avoided. For some reason my Beretta had some crazy fliers with white box.
Conclusion:
Its a fantastic defensive pistol that is accurate to at least 65 yards; and at least to me seems like a piece that can be counted on in the worst imaginable conditions. Solid buy in my book.

Some good online deals for that pistol. I agree Winchester WB has been junk lately.

I've only used a Beretta once. Don't know what kind it was but it was an impressive pistol. I think that in general their rep is well deserved. However at present there is really only one 9mm I'd like to acquire which is a CZ75. One in 9mm and the other in 22LR cadet form.

HK USP Compact for me I own two of them and they are perfect (for me)
I still have my first Browning BDA380. I love this gun as well, very nice balance and easy to point and shoot.

Unfortunately, by posting those links to FPS Russia back when, you've got me lusting after one that will cost dearly - an FN 57.

I qualify every now and then on the M9, which is the same thing as a 92FS. I like the accuracy, and I shoot Expert with it, but it's a bit large for my hands and I prefer having the same trigger squeeze for every shot. Not only that, it gets heavy fast if you are carrying one all day.

Oh stop it, you're going to have me drooling on the keyboard.

Would love to have one of those, especially for taking potshots at the local coyotes.

But the Scot in me is howling bloody murder at the thought of paying that much money for a gun.

Not that I don't have a few long guns that are worth more - like a Browning 20 gauge BSS SXS with gold trigger and engraving - but I picked those up better than 20 years ago for a mere pittance in local pawn shops in the Bremerton WA area - once again Grandma Abernethy's legacy.

The pom in me paid the price for a 5/7 FN, should be here Monday or Tuesday. I'm also going to put together an AR5\7 with my ATN genII optics and a magpul prs stock for coyote plinkin. Will definitely make sure to post an Albanian shooting video.

My friend has a green and black one. Nice pistol, not crazy about the plastic fantastic its made out of. But that's a personal thing and very subjective.

It shoots like a dream, has very little recoil and the 5.7 round is pretty much a mini 5.56.

I recommend saving brass and reloading the civilian 5.7 ammo to military only full juice rounds.

I also recommend getting the matching P90...

When I save up enough Amex points I'm going to buy one from Cabela's. I'm up to $200.

Cabelas? My local one doesn't have any. Only CZ's they have a long guns and one CZ83 in 380 ACP used. I used to carry that back in SA but I want a 75 now. Have you seen any in Cabelas?
