I don't have the magic potion to make that happen and will have to do what I can to make do with what we have in the meantime, and it can get mean out there.

if you ask me, people are getting meaner and meaner. Nice just doesn't seem to exist anymore. I am really tired of the jerk offs texting while driving and then when they almost run into you, act like it's your fault. I think the answer is to form a coop of some of the forum members who work out at the local gym and do this:

Lost Highway - Don't You Ever Tailgate - YouTube

Of course a W126 will be necessary equipment......

First, with regard to your comment about punctuation, I thought we had gotten past that. I am treating it as a question because that's how it makes the most grammatical sense. Since disley came up with the idea, I called it his question.
Well, if we're going to start picking nits (what was the topic again, anyway???), shouldn't it be "who" rather than "that"?

Why not both, to quote a line in a Marx Bros. movie in a scene featuring Harpo:

"Who that man?"

It should definitely be "who."

I don't think it can be both.

If one cannot argue about the subject then one can always argue about the message or the messenger.

The line I refer to was intoned more like 'who dat man?' Might seem dated and a tad condescending these days but I suspect that the movie (A Day at the Races) was a real shot in the arm for black artists:

I'm sorta non-plussed at the dissecting of this one post. I don't find a question mark or lack of one to be much of an issue. Doing so might be referred to as arguing about the message or the messenger.

The original line is an interesting thought. Utter and absolute trust in govt. is not well advised but neither is utter and absolute cynicism.

so, if zimmerman didn't have the right to own a gun, nor carry it around loaded, would this whole event have ever happened?

but yes, i guess everyone must have their right to own a gun (or guns), so that we will all be safer?

all makes perfect sense to me.

Sure it would. There are plenty of people running around with illegal guns, so if he wanted it, he still would have had it.

I've said all along that if Zimmerman hadn't been carrying that gun, it seems likely he'd have cooled his heels and stayed in the car.

Of course, had he exercised some mature discretion he very likely would have done the same.

I'd bet if he ever applied to a major police department, his personality type would have gone past the bell-curve of admission standards.

If his gun were illegal he might not have been so quick to use it.

I have never heard of anybody who utterly and absolutely trusted in gov.

Revolutionaries come from the second group. Most of the time revolutionaries are an unwelcome PITA. But sometimes they are necessary.

Probably the vast majority is somewhere in the middle.

These "if only" scenarios are fruitless.
Here's one from the other side---does it help the discussion?---
If only TM had stayed on the sidewalk and not walk thru the unlighted backyards of a community that had a bout of recent break ins, while wearing a hoodie--he'd be alive today.

If he had no hands then the gun would've been moot and they would all be safe at home.

You can trivialize my comment but that does not make it untrue.
