B.O.'s Great Timing!

The batsrads from the Keystone XL pipeline left a message on our voicemail saying that the pipeline project would be starting August first. The fact that they left a voicemail instead of talking to us directly gives you an idea of how classless they are. They already forced us to give up part of our property with no choice whatsoever in the matter.

It's even more irritating given that they aren't even an American company.

B.O. had perfect timing on this. He held it off for awhile, and then turned it loose at just the right time so that the TEMPORARY jobs produced by the Keystone XL batsrads will TEMPORARILY show up on the employment figures at election time.

This is a crude oil pipeline that will be transporting a HIGHLY CORROSIVE tar sands crude from Canada to a refinery in Port Arthur, Tx. When this corrosive crude eats through the pipe and makes a serious spill on our place, hide and watch and see who will be responsible for the clean up.

WHY do they not refine it up there? I'll tell you why! Mark my word. What will happen is, the products in Port Arthur will be sold somewhere besides the US. Mark my word.

B.O. is just another slimey politician that doesn't miss a political trick, regardless of how Americans are TRULY effected.

While this would be bad for the oil companies' bottom line, it would help lower prices here in the US...

The oil will no longer be available on the world market. Let's just hope the middle eastern companies don't go this route but I suspect we will eventually get there.

That's an old article from back in March - when oil was still well over $100/barrel and gas pushing $4/gallon.

Take a look at this website -

CRUDE OIL PRICE: Oil | Energy | Petroleum | Oil Price | Crude Oil Charts | Oil Price Forecast

Oil has been under $100/barrel for over a month, and well under $90/barrel for several weeks now - bouncing along around $85/barrel for a couple weeks now.

It's the price differential for the refined products that's interesting - gas and heating oil trading at approx $2.70/gallon - yet the cheapest gas I can find locally is 3.35/gallon regular, and diesel is even worse - 3.70/gallon, a full one dollar markup.

It's not that we're exporting our domestic crude, it's that we're exporting the refined products from such at a frenzied pace.

What did you expect? A playboy model to deliver a hand written note on a piece of paper or a singing telegram?

Again, so what? If an American company didn't want to get involved or couldn't make the numbers come out for them, should we play the "dog in the manger"?

It's possible but how can we be sure that was the plan? How many temporary jobs and permanent jobs are we talking about?

"When"? How long before the tin pipe corrodes? Are you sure that the pipe will not withstand the corrosive effects? You sure it wasn't constructed right?

You don't think cost has an effect on the decisions, do you? Besides, what is it you wanted? That the crude only be sold here? I'm not sure that is how the oil business works.

Got a better one in mind? Lets understand this. Obama or if McCain had won is after one thing only. Their next election. That idea that a politician cares about you is about as real as the fairy tales.

You're absolutely right to take this whole thing personally Larry. President Obama is out to ruin your property and make your life miserable.

What did I want? The main thing I wanted was them NOT to force me to give up land at gunpoint. I had absolutely no choice in the matter and they are not even a US company.

As I recall it involves about 20,000 jobs for a very short amount of time.

If the day ever comes that the government FORCES you to give up what you don't want to give up, THEN you will understand what it feels like.

Is there anything you can do to make life unpleasant for the trash working to rape your former land with the pipeline? Or just open up a combo speakeasy and bordello next door to the project. Hope that as many workers as possible come to work drunk and end up meeting with all sorts of interesting accidents, not to mention a few of them having their peckers rot off from antibiotic-resistant VD.

Lawsuits should serve to slow the Big Oil pigs' project to a crawl. This being said, the project may stall due to natural circumstances. Oil prices have plummeted in recent months, and the oil that's being transported by the pipeline isn't profitable if prices remain much below $75-80/bbl, from what I understand.

I wish there was some sort of recourse, but there isn't. The landowner in today's USA is a lowlife. In order to be respected by the US govt today, you have to be living off the government and pushing out an illigitimate baby every year. The landowner is just chit in their eyes.

As I said, do your part to make sure the workers stay drunk, hung-over, and/or exhausted on the job.

No worries. I might be in better physical condition than you. I work out every day and after my recent physical the doctor said all my numbers are good and that I am in excellent physical condition.

You need to read a little more closely. The Pres approved the pipeline so that the construction would be in action so that the temporary jobs would occur leading up to the election. I never wrote that he was out to get me in particular.

You might want to work on your reading comprehension.

(Padrino)

If I had my land stolen by Big Oil thugs, I'd be enraged too. For once I agree with Larry.

I'd probably take my anger out on the workers in ways that aren't strictly illegal, but are still likely to cause them unpleasantness, rather than venting on the Internet. Yeah, yeah, just doing their jobs. Anyone who abets Big Oil deserves what's coming to them and more.

But of course Larry, you will live forever
