D/FW hail storm.....

If you are in the area and can snap a few pictures this would be a nice place to post them. From what I have seen this looks like that storm in Fort Worth in the 90's.

I am too far north to have received any damage myself, but since several of ya'll live in the Dallas area....

I heard that South Grand Prairie (I-20 and Carrier) also got hit hard. Anyone have any first hand info on this?

Since my Mom has been sick and I've been flying back and forth to Grand Prairie Municipal I've been keeping her car at the airport. We just got her out of rehab and Sunday was a week ago I brought her car back and put it in her garage. GP Municipal is not far at all from I20 and Carrier. In fact, Carrier parkway is pretty much the downwind leg for runway 17.

Just in time, whew!

I guess if anyone has been contemplating opening a body shop in the Dallas area, this is the time.

I always avoid fly-by-night types, but there are folks that come in from somewhere and set up shop under a tent on a Dealers lot that do some good work when it comes to removing hail damage.

I asked them if this was their line of work and they said they are sort of 'on call' to auto dealers across the south. So after a big storm one of the dealers they work with calls them and they are there with-in 24 hours.

Not a bad business model.

No it was not. I had a truck sitting over there-just brought it home. some people got lots of small hail dents in GP but Dallas got hit HARD with lots of waisted windshields and totally ruined cars in some places.

I asked about that intersection because I know a guy that lives in that area and have not been able to talk to him.

He lives south of that shopping center that is in the southwest corner.

Thanks for the info that while there was hail it was nothing like that which hit around the Lakewood Theater.

Pooka,

My Mom is in an assisted living place just South of that shopping center. She is of course inside and I'm sure unaware of the extent of damage, but I will know this weekend. I'll let you know what I find.
