Question 1994 C280

I just picked up a new to me 1994 C280 with 79,000 on it and it is the best car that I have owned, better than my ES300 and Integra. This forum has been a wealth of information and thanks to all!

A few issues.

My outside temperature guage is off (ie. its reading 124+ when its 30 degrees outside) What kind of cost can expect to have it replaced and do I need to do it soon or will the car be fine come summer time?

A few electrical issues, lighter doesn't work, glovebox light is out as well as the rear dome light, one instrument cluster bulb is gone and the bulb that lights up the transmission gear indicator was out, but appears to be fine now.

I checked the wiring harness and it looks okay, but could these burnt out bulbs be a sign that I will need to have the harness replaced or is it normal for bulbs to start going at 79,000?

I want to replace the glovebox light but I am scared I'm going to break the cover off, is there a proper way access the bulb ?

Thanks in advance!

Lightbulb CHEAP FIX!!!!

Check the fuses! To my knowledge, the glove box light and the cigarette lighter are on the same fuse. Check the fuse box in the engine compartment... just in case, there is another fuse box in the trunk, under the mat, on the passenger side behind the luggage bowl in the spare tire. Good luck!Q

Thanks David!

The car didn't come with an owner's manual, which I ordered from my local Benz dealer and should be coming this week. I'll take your advice and let you know what happens.
