It's a cabriolet!

Any hydraulic leaks? Head gasket replaced? wiring harness still in one piece?

Not bad for 5k, mine sold for around 14-15k after it was freshened up. The 94 should have painted wheels.

What lee can you tell us about it? Did it come with the windscreen too?

So far after a month and 1000 miles no hydraulic top leaks. Head gasket and harness done. Car drives and looks good. Wheels are 16' and not stock but I have 18' monoblock II with tires sitting in garage. Just did oil change. Next is tranny filter, gasket and drain/fill. Runs good for 152000 miles. It will be covered in garage in winter. No windscreen :-(

That's a steal! This is one of those cars that could go up in value; low numbers and always stayed in the 15/20K dollar range.

Well i always wanted one of these but the ones with low miles are crazy expensive. Never like SL due to no seats in the back plus you dont see these on road. Should i stick with these wheels or put amg monoblocks?? My main concern is transmission. How are trannys on these? What kind of signs it has when it dying???

Transmissions are mostly bullet proof...forward gears that is. As long as you keep the filter/fluid changed you should be good for a 250K average. You do get some warning signs though. If it ever takes longer than usual to go into reverse, you better start budgeting a R&R.

My 1993 has been giving me those symptoms. It takes 2 seconds to engage when put in reverse. I know the damage is done but should I replace fluid now or keep old stuff in it until i decide to do rebuild?? Would new fluid and filter make things worse? It does not bother me because two seconds delay in reverse is not too bad and forward is smooth. How much would rebuild cost??

My tranny wouldn't go into 4th when I got it. Pulled each spring out 1 by 1 and leaned and I guess some varnish had built up and it was fine after that.

When you change the transmission fluid, on the w124, please remember that there are TWO drain plugs, and one is for the torque converter.

The Mercedes Benz Dealer who did a year ago, did not know this, and even when i asked, to be sure I wo8uld get a full service on the transmission and to flush and refill the torque converter also, told me that they can only get a half a transmission fluid change for the reason that there is only one drain plug, so the torque converter is inaccessibler to drain. They told me also, in response to my inquiry that the dirty fluid would eventually mix with the clean AT fluid.

Idiots, the Mercedes Benz dealers like to brag in their ads that they are certified by the factory and know what they are doing, and in practice you will find their prices are high as the moon compared to elsewhere.

To this, I would add personally, that The moon is made of GREEN cheese.
