Veterans' Jobs Bill Blocked in the Senate - NYTimes.com
How is this not the most insulting use of power in recent history in the US Senate? |

Let's look at this...Senate is made up of 100 Senators. The current Senate is 51-D, 47-R, and 2-I.
The vote was lost 58-40, which equals 98...where's the missing 2 votes?

Republicans 58:40
5 Republicans voted for it, ALL who opposed it were Republicans.

Since 5 Rs voted in favor of it...Yeah, blame the entire party for blocking it. Makes a load of sense to me.

Republican votes killed this bill. It's really not hard to see.

So that logic is good for this bill ... and just this bill? Be careful opening that box...

OK, so what is in the fine print? I am old enough to have learned the lesson that the nicer the Title, the more perverse the actual proposed legislation---i.e. "The Patriot Act".
So what else was in the Bill besides jobs for vets?

"O' beautiful, for spacious skies
But now those skies are threatening They're beating plowshares into swords For this tired old man that we elected king Armchair warriors often fail And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales The lawyers clean up all details Since daddy had to lie ..."
