No one catches Ricky Williams

CROWLEY, La. -- Police had a lot of trouble catching up with Ricky Williams' Mercedes.
The New Orleans Saints running back was arrested late Sunday after being clocked at 126 miles per hour on Interstate 10 near Crowley, where the speed limit is 70, state police said.
It took a state trooper and a police officer to catch him.
A state trooper was heading west, then turned around to chase Williams when he spotted the black Mercedes SUV zooming east, Trooper Willie Williams Jr. said. The trooper called the Rayne Police Department for assistance when he realized he couldn't catch up with the football star, Trooper Williams said.
"We just couldn't catch up with him. He wasn't avoiding the police," Trooper Williams said.
Ricky Williams pulled into a truck stop 17 miles after he was first spotted speeding. He told police he was in a hurry to get home.
"He had a very pleasant demeanor. He did not give the officer any problems," Trooper Williams said.
Ricky Williams was booked on charges of speeding in excess of 101 miles per hour and reckless operation of a motor vehicle and also got a speeding citation, state police sergeant Chris Owens said.
Police released the vehicle he was driving to Williams' passenger, a New Orleans woman, Owens said.
Williams was booked into the Acadia Parish jail, then posted a $500 bond for speeding and a $100 bond for careless operation. Owens was unsure how long Williams was in jail.
