Are you trying to tell me that someone might lie on an internet dating site? The hell you say!

This State Farm commercial cracks me up every time I see it.

That is hella sexist. Scores high for equating a person with a body part—which is deemed the only worthwhile thing about the person—dehumanizing them, and implied threats of violence against a gender just because they're that gender. A+ sexism. Did your school not get the memo on the whole equality thing?

What I meant is that they just leave it at that. They are overly generic profiles that includes many of the following sentences:

I love travel! (no explanation)
I am a total foodie! (no explanation)
I love to laugh! (most useless sentence EVER!)
I can't live without my friends! (me neither, but elaborate!)

What do they expect? Not to be judged by their looks if their profile sounds like it was written by a 7-year-old? I left online dating altogether LONG ago.

And here's another jewel on online dating...

Well....I wasn't looking at her hands, but now that you mention it; I don't think her hands look anything like an 80 year old. My Mom is nearing that age which is my ONLY point of reference.

Have you held hands with any 80 year old women recently?

I actually stretch the truth a few years in my profile and not because I'm trying to mislead anyone. It's just another technique I use to help keep my identity from being stolen. I don't enter my REAL birthday to any online website (PP included).

well now I kind of feel a little bad for her.

Reading again through that blurb, she contradicts herself a bunch, and was probably trying to make a number of jokes, but they come off weird in text like that.

I think shes an attractive woman, but its clear she was quite a bit more attractive in her younger days, and now at 55, for a woman, shes nearing the edge where her looks are eroding and age is marching forward, which must be devastating for her.

Jim, you need to take this woman out and see if shes a megab**ch, or lonely and tired of the runaround. Rereading it, thats the new feeling I get for her comments.

Yes I have...a few weeks ago while visiting my grandmother and great aunt, both in a nursing home. One is 87, the other is 93...both have younger looking hands than that woman.

was it height?

my friend I mentioned earlier always gives himself an extra inch on the web, then wears lifted shoes for the first couple of dates, moving down through various heel heights until hes at his actual height. Its hilarious.

See what you've done? I actually had to go look at her pics again!!! Your grandmother and great aunt must have young looking hands. Now, granted, I have met quite a few women who I have no idea what their age may be by looking. The women that really stump me are the young ones under 40.

Example: A 60 year old woman was chasing me.....and after receiving a pic of her, I agreed to meet her. She looks better than most late 40's women I've recently met. So, we got into this discussion about aging.....her Mom doesn't look her age either, so they have good genes. Longevity runs in my family, too.

So, jp, maybe your family has good genes in the longevity and aging categories.

As an after thought, most guys on the forum that have met me in person who commented on it; always thought I was younger than my actual age.

I never stretch my height. A tall women who wear heels will often think I'm NOT 6'2", but once I get her shoes off , she agrees my height is right on.

I always down play my measurements. I also tell prospects quite bluntly that while I don't work out (at the gym), I am quite active and eat (and drink) healthy. Most women wonder how I can maintain my weight. If you lower the expectation, then surprises can happen. It's all about managing the expectation.

From what I have seen, he got stiffed by some woman in a divorce so based on his inability to take precautions especially when things are going south in the relationship, he is on the hunt for anything that looks like a gold digger, whether she is or not.

It rubs the lotion on it's body. It does this whenever it is told or it gets the hose.

A little lotion and the lights out might make it all go away. Besides, everybody knows that a bird in the bush is worth 2 in the hand,
