Im drivng an old war plane amid a squadron of jet fighters.

As well built as she is ,the old 300cd I drive as a daily seems to be tested by other drivers that pull up around me on daily commutes.Question I have is Do people test their cars performance towards your own ? I find suv drivers weilding their bohemoths to stop at a traffic light just before you do just to win somekind of race who can get to the light first .Is this to test their drivng skill or is it to prove something about their car,I dont get it.I drive along at a certain pace , use signals at every light ,and stay reasonable around the speed limit ,some others have a James Bond approach which makes me think that people who are driving like this have not a road race manaic mentality, better yet, My guess its the sales guy at the dealership who after a test drive with a buyer says ,"this car is a rocket ship", after trouncing the car purposely showing the cars level of performance on public roads.

Uh-oh, I sense another "DB driver" thread starting.

More it's just too many "drivers" on the road today have never learned how to drive to begin with.

Ignore them, they are hominids that are several steps below you on the evolutionary ladder, and they will flame out early.

It's been said that the Dodge Ram pickup trucks on high stilts are among the worst to mix it up with, they are quick to go into road rage mode, so just get out of the way..RIGHT away, like with an intoxicated driver..

(That's a graphic, needlessly indelicate way of putting it though). \o/

Women I know call drivers of those certain cars cars actually call the cars "compensators". Souped up Mustangs, Camaros, Porsches, Challengers, huge high lifted pickup trucks, Corvettes, Lamborghinis, Maseratis and so forth are often gifted with that perjorative, by attractive. intrlligent and knowing females who snicker knowingly at the drivers of those sorts of vehicles.

Usually with stop lights, I try and adjust my speed so that it turns green just as I'm about to arrive.

I do notice however, that when driving or accelerating next to someone, there's a tendency for them to try and keep just a "nose" ahead and hang there. When they do that, I usually just move positively ahead so we're not riding "neck and neck".

You need a faster car, so no one can keep up with you...I recommend at least 600hp.

No, people don't test their cars' performance against mine. Despite having among the worst power to weight ratios, I'm usually the fastest thing on the road. Even when I had a 240D, I was often the fastest thing on the road.

I'm continually frustrated by the "drivers" who can't seem to discover the purpose of the skinny pedal on the right. Most of the time all I want to do is get up to my preferred cruising speed of ten miles over the limit* reasonably quickly and stay there. I frequently find kindred spirits driving diesel Rams. Most others do the speed limit or less, have no respect for the passing lane, and no consideration for the people stuck behind them.

*Every police agency around here will let you do ten over all day long. Fifteen or more over is iffy. If I were free to choose my speed without concern for legal sanction I'd be around speed limit+20 under most circumstances (in the car-the bike is a whole other matter).

For many people, the two petals are on/off switches.
Full on or full off.

Dodge Ram with Cummins diesels and 2-- 8" stacks coming up through the bed rolling black smoke--a cartoon of a truck, IMO.
