Porsches are more about mystique and 'pop' than anything else. Nice cars, though.

I had the good fortune to work briefly in a shop that serviced a lot of Porsches. I thought the 911's in general were easier to work on than a lot of cars, though older ones are generally easier than the newer ones. If that one's riding rough I wonder if there's something wrong with it or if it's been modified. I never found the stock suspension to be harsh in any of the ones I drove. The race prepped 914/6 that one customer had was a different story.

It'll ride a lot better with some wheels on it!

Yeah, those brake rotors are small and hard surfaced. ![]() Kind of interesting to hear an opinion that this car is all bling and no go. That's what most people think that have never learned the proper technique for driving a rear engine car fast. There are PLENTY of people in the past, and I'm sure it's still happening, that go into a corner a little hot, get scared and hit the brakes, which GUARANTEES that the tail will come around. Once a person learns how to drive one fast, on a curvy road they can go SURE ENOUGH fast. It used to be quite common for someone with the money to buy one, but no savvy in drving one, would smack a guardrail right after Happy Hour. I was at a large foreign car salvage yard one time where the Porsche section had a large number of them on a rack system. Almost every single one of them had serious damage to a rear quarter section, and much more than sheet metal damage. It was on the left side on most of them, but a few of them on the right. The word at the time was that the common scenario was someone going onto an entrance ramp, carrying too much speed, or maybe not, but they THINK they're carrying too much speed and hit the brakes. It comes around and smacks the rail. The experienced and savvy driver would maintain power or even accelerate to make it through the turn.

On the section of the interstate I drove on it kind of "jar" feel whenever I hit the expansion joints. The guy is running 40 psi in the tires so that may well have something to do with it too. I never did see the tag that signifies the correct tire pressure. I just assumed it was tied to the short wheelbase. It was a pleasure on the curvy back roads though

Well, a porsche is not a Mercedes. A nose heavy car will always ride nicer than a rear heavy car....if you are used to the nose heavy car the light nose car will feel twitchy and bouncy in front.

With ANY brake types or of any age, regular brake fluid flushing will almost totally eliminate hydraulic problems in cylinders or calipers.
